In this session of 2nd semester lab class, we dove into a deeper understand into the interrelated systems such as process skills, motor functions, and visual process that collaborate to create a beaded keychain according to written instructions. This helped emphasize the importance of task analysis and the ability to break down an activity into simple, direct steps.
In this session of my 3rd semester lab class, I had the opportunity to create a resting hand splint for a fellow classmate. This involved measuring, sizing, managing a heat bath, and molding thermoplastic around the hand and arm.
This session involved presenting a 45-minute scrap craft activity that involved providing step-by-step instruction to a class consisting of 28 participants. This was a great opportunity to build on my communication skills as well as think outside of the box to create something meaningful that provide therapeutic benefit.
This session involved presenting three 45-minute sessions to a class of around 28 students in a group of 5 members. The purpose of our presentation was to help facilitate money management, time management, and topographical skills in clients with a focus on potential limitations posed by Cerebral Palsy.
This session involved working in groups of 5 to create heart-shaped origami with a dollar bill. This was a great opportunity to build team dynamics but also emphasis use of fine motor skills through a simple activity.
