Giving back to my community by Liliana Ceja, OTA-S

Great enjoyment was found at Jordan High School in Long Beach, CA on October 24th, 2023. As a second semester student, I had the opportunity to advocate for the OT profession by sharing information about how OT services can benefit the lives of people with the goal of becoming independent. It was a pleasure to meet all the high school students who took an interest in OT!

The COVID-19 pandemic has left people feeling isolated and anxious for the future. In March 2024, I took part in a worldwide campaign that involved volunteering 30 hours, taking place various mornings and evenings. I found great pleasure in reaching out to the neighbors in my community to answer any Bible-based questions they may have while engaging in meaningful and uplifting conversations. 

With great delight, in December 2023, I was able to participate in the maintenance and cleaning of both the indoor and outdoor areas of an Assembly Hall in Norco, CA. Some of my responsibilities included loading pallets, with proper certification, onto warehouse shelves and inspecting safety hazards throughout the facility.
